Lautenberg: 'We Don't Have More Madmen, We Have More Guns' (VIDEO)
Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) said on Tuesday that America's problem isn't that there are more madmen, it's that guns are too readily available to them. In the wake of the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and the Murder of six others in a mass shooting over the weekend is pushing Legislation to ban high-capacity gun clips.
Lautenberg said it was outrageous that there hasn't been a positive response to the shooting and said that if alleged gunman Jared Lee Loughner didn't have access t...

Bill seeks to wrap Congress in actual bubble
Stumble This! In the wake of a Mass Shooting in Arizona that left six dead and one congresswoman in the Hospital, some Republican lawmakers seem to be most worried about finding ways to protect themselves. Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN) wants to enclose the House Gallery in "a transparent and substantial material" such as Plexiglas, an aide told CBS News. His Legislation aims to keep the public from being able to throw explosives or other materials at members while they are on the House floor. It's no...

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy To Introduce Bill Banning High-Capacity Gun Clips
The husband of Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) was murdered in a 1993 Mass Shooting on the Long Island Railroad. When Congress reconvenes after this period of mourning, she will introduce a bill similar to the 1994 law banning gun clips that hold more than ten bullets. That law was allowed to expire on schedule in 2004 due to pressure exerted on the GOP by the National Rifle Association.

Democrats two-fold agenda in aftermath of Arizona Shooting
Democrats in the aftermath of the Arizona massacre in which Jared Loughner went on a shooting spree, killing six innocent by-standers and critically wounding Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, immediately defined their agenda: blame conservative pundits and the Tea Party.
But casting the blame on Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News is only part of the agenda of the far left Democrats. Let it be known Democrats have a two-fold agenda:
Democrats Agenda #1: Shut Down Free Speech

(VIDEO) Members of Congress are falling all over themselves to propose changes to the nation's gun laws in the wake of the Arizona Assassination attempt of Rep. GOP walks unarmed into health-care repeal battle

Ed. note: Most of our posts the past few days have, understandably, been on the Arizona shooting. We'll have more on that terrible story, but now let's turn back to Congress and the House Republicans' effort to Repeal the Affordable Care Act. This is the first of two excellent posts by Nicholas on that very topic. The second will appear tomorrow. -- MJWS

Why Magazine Limit Laws Don't Save Lives
Gun Control advocates are hoping to use the bodies of those killed by Jared Loughner as a podium to spread their views. New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein and New York Rep. Carolyn McCarthy—Democrats all—are using the tragedy to rush forward a ban on magazines of more than ten rounds, claiming that by limiting the number of cartridges held in each magazine, the number of casualties in shootings would be reduced.

New York Times Calls for Congressional Action on Gun Control
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
By Susan Jones
(CNSNews.com) - A day after opining that "it is legitimate to hold Republicans...responsible" for the anger that has produced violent threats against politicians, the New York Times on Tuesday sounded a call for Gun Control.
"The ludicrously thin membrane that now passes for gun control in this country almost certainly made the Tucson tragedy worse," said the newspaper editorial. "Members of Congress are legitimately concerned about their own safety ...
Giffords attack sparks gun control fight
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-L.I.) pushed to ban high-capacity gun clips on Monday in response to the Arizona shootings, but quickly got pushback from her Staten Island rookie colleague.
McCarthy, whose husband was killed in the 1993 Long Island Rail Road massacre, noted her experience of "senseless gun violence firsthand" in drafting Legislation that would ban gun clips and magazines with more than 10 bullets.

Tucson shooting and the predictable Congressional response begins
It’s ironic that when you look up the definition of “knee-jerk” on Merriam Webster, they use “knee-jerk liberals” as an example of usage of the term. It’s proven true once again as the Tucson shooting, starring an idiot acting out his “conscience dreams” using a gun, brings the Gun Control freaks out of their closets with their Morality banners held high. Congress… who’ll take any advantage of a crisis or tragedy to exerciser power or ...

Dems And GOP Agree: Gun Control Is A Non-Starter In AZ Following Shooting
TUCSON, AZ -- Arizona's answer to the deadly shooting at a constituent event for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) Saturday will likely be more guns at political rallies, not less. That's the word from Democrats and Republicans in this mourning desert city still reeling from this weekend's Mass Shooting that left six dead and 14 injured, including Giffords, who remains in critical condition after being shot in the head.
Simply put, local politicians say, Arizona loves guns. And that means that th...
