Sarah Palin: Palin representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday, but Politico said the retweet is a hint that Palin supports the Repeal. Gawker said Palin is not "in the context of her party, rabidly homophobic," then wondered if perhaps she didn't understand the tweet or pushed the wrong button.

And the Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart said Palin might really support the repeal, but he added "it's easy to support something that has already happened and costs you little to s...

Did Sarah Palin just endorse gay rights? (The Week)
New York – Palin retweeted a column endorsing the Repeal of the ban on Gays in the Military. Does that count as supporting Gay Rights?
During the recent fight over the Repeal of the U.S. Military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy on gays, one prominent political voice was silent: Sarah Palin. Now, some commentators think she may have lent her Endorsement to the pending DADT repeal, or even gay rights in general, with her retweet on Monday of a pro-gay message by conservative Lesbian talk-...
Sarah Palin Tammy Bruce Retweet Reveals A Pro-Gay Stance?
Sarah Palin stirred the Twittersphere Monday evening when she retweeted a pro-gay message by Lesbian conservative commentator Tammy Bruce concerning the "hypocrisy" of homophobic and anti-gay actions.
"But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already--the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed," Bruce wrote Monday, reportedly about the dismissal of U.S. Navy Captain Owen Honors, following the release of a series of Controversial videos made aboard...
Someone high-five Sarah Palin for me--Obama administration admits "mix-up", will remove death panels from new Medicare regulatio
A week ago, word came out that the Obama Administration were planning to install these “Death Panels” in Medicare Regulation. After people critized the administration acknowledging Palin was right about these end-of-life planning, The NY Times reports today that the administration made a “mix-up” and these panels will be removed. No, the mix-up is that it was politically stupid to implement this Regulation. The uproar was palpable. In other words, Palin and Conservatives ...
A Few Brief Thoughts on a Sarah Palin ReTweet
As you can tell from my previous post about the USS Enterprise situation a Palin ReTweet of one of my Tweets seems to have become another story unto itself. I’ve been getting tons of emails asking me to expand a bit on what I think the RT means. So, in this post I’m going to expound briefly on what I think Governor Palins’ intention was and my assessment of her in this context. For those who don’t Tweet, a little explanation-when I tweet something other people on Tw...
Sarah Palin On Twitter Hints At Support Of DADT Repeal, Gay Rights
Conservative radio host and proud Lesbian Tammy Bruce joined the discussion about Navy Capt. Owen Honors and his controversially homophobic videos shown to his Navy crew, by tweeting, “But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already-the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed.” Sarah Palin, who has not spoken out on the issue of “don’t ask don’t tell” or any gay issue really, re-tweeted Bruce’s messag...
Sarah Palin Implies Support of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Repeal (ContributorNetwork)
The political blogosphere has been roiled by Sarah Palin's retweeting a tweet by gay conservative and Palin supporter Tammy Bruce that seemed to suggest that Palin supported the Repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
According to Politico:
"Tammy Bruce, a Palin-friendly commentator who has interviewed the ex-governor tweeted: 'I'm focused on economic issues, and you may have noticed I was being quiet about DADT because that's not our most pressing issue...But...
The Unintended Consequences of Repealing Dont Ask, Dont Tell
Unintended consequences. That’s a brief phrase that’s getting worn out in a hurry. It seems that everything has it’s ‘Unintended Consequences’ these days and I’m going to make that monkey pile just a little higher. In the final hours of the 111th disaster commonly known as Congress, our elected representatives and senators put their stamp of approval on ending Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell, the federal law that prevented gay and Lesbian Military...
Sarah Palin, Tammy Bruce Anti-DADT Tweet: Announcement or Trial Balloon
Sarah Palin forwarded a message to hundreds of thousands of her followers from conservative Talk Show host, Tammy Bruce (above). The message, in the context of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” that Palin re-tweeted:
“But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already-the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed,”
Is this a trial balloon, a big mistake, or something else? Palin’s sometimes uses unconventional or high-tech...

(01-05) 09:13 PST WASHINGTON (AP) --
Reversing a potentially Controversial decision, the Obama Administration will drop references to end-of-life counseling from the ground rules for Medicare's new annual checkup, a White House official said Wednesday.
The latest shift on the sensitive subject comes ahead of a vote next week in the new GOP-led House to Repeal President Barack Obama's landmark Health Care overhaul.
The decision is not likely to have much impact on patients and doctors already d...
Sarah Palin proves lying can be very effective
Some folks on the right are excited about an article in The New York Times today reporting that the Obama Administration, in a sudden shift, has decided to nix those fabled "Death Panels":
The Obama Administration, reversing course, will revise a Medicare Regulation to delete references to end-of-life planning as part of the annual physical examinations covered under the new Health Care law, administration officials said Tuesday.
The Times bluntly notes that politics helped drive the Obama ad...
Gay rights group laments makeup of new House
A gay and Lesbian rights Advocacy Group, Human Rights Campaign, is calling the 112th House of Representatives solidly against their cause.
According to the group's tally, 53 seats now belong to lawmakers who do not support the group's efforts. Overall in the House, 225 members of the new Congress fall into that category, with another 43 showing a mixed record. In all, a solid majority.
A spokesman for the group, Michael Cole-Schwartz, said in an e-mail that for new members, the labels are base...
Marines hardest hit by Pentagon cuts
Image via Wikipedia
NY Times:
It was supposed to be a tank that swims, a new way for the Marines to storm hostile beaches.
But as Military Budgets come under pressure, the 38-ton landing craft that turns into an assault vehicle seems destined to be the next bit of high-tech wizardry to bite the dust.
Pentagon and industry officials say the Defense Secretary, Robert M. Gates, is poised to cancel the long-delayed $14.4 billion program on Thursday, when he is expected to announce a new round of ...
Death panels no more: HHS drops Medicare reg on end-of-life planning
Actually, there’s no panel involved. What we’re talking about here is paying doctors to remind elderly patients during the annual check-up that they might want to leave some written instructions in case they’re incapacitated and eager to avoid a Schiavo-esque family tug of war. You don’t need a doctor for that, in fact; you can print out your state’s standardized living will form here, fill in the appropriate boxes, and then take it to a local notary for signature...

Boehner Commits To ‘Open’ Process As GOP Moves Towards Adopting Closed Rule On Health Repeal
In a widely televised Inaugural Speech this afternoon, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) reiterated his commitment to “openness” and fair debate in the 112th Congress, even as his new majority prepares to bar Democrats from offering any amendments to the Health Care repeal Legislation and is forgoing the normal process of debating the measures in committee before they’re ...
Will Sarah Palin Attack Bob McDonnell For This?
Uh oh, watch out Bob McDonnell, this could make Sarah Palin really mad at you! Gov. Robert F. McDonnell (R) plans to stop in Prince William County Thursday to welcome a new fitness initiative and get a little exercise with local Students. Take [Bob McDonnell's] anti-obesity thing that [he] is on. [He] is on this kick, right. What [he] is telling us is [he] cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own Children, for their own families in what we should eat. And I know I'm going to be aga...
CNN Spitzer says to Alec Baldwin: ' You almost sound like Sarah Palin' (video)
"Wuh, wuh, wuh," stuttered Alec Baldwin , before Elliot Spitzer interrupted with surprise, "I've never heard you stutter before." However it wasn't the stammer that surprised Spitzer as much as the personal reasons Baldwin gave to explain his passion for politics, prompting Spitzer to note, "You almost sound like Sarah Palin." ALEC BALDWIN:The answer is yes. It's something that I'm very, very interested in because, you, you, you know people would say to me all of the time - ah ...
Van Fleins name dropped from Anchorage law firm
There's been a shake up in the name of a well-known Alaska Law Firm. Clapp, Peterson, Van Flein, Tiemessen & Thorsness LLC has dropped the "Van Flein" and added a "Johnson." (To be clear, the firm's new name is Clapp, Peterson, Tiemessen, Thorsness & Johnson.) Blame it on Thomas Van Flein's latest career move. In addition to departing from the firm, he's saying goodbye to his stint as a paid advisor for SarahPAC, Sarah Palin's political action committee, and as the Palin family's and Sen...
Dont Ask, Dont Tell, Dont Surf and Turf
Having written “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Don’t Smoke,” my eye quickly caught a Letter to the Editor in today’s Stars and Stripes, titled “‘‘Don’t ask,’ surf and turf.”
While hopefully my piece was a little more serious and a little less irreverent, this letter in all its “cheeky,” sardonic glory certainly gets its message across—after a while.
Enjoy, or endure, according to your predisposition
‘Don’t ask,
As they beat a retweet...
As they beat a retweet...
Via Ann Althouse, I learned that CNN is all atwitter over Sarah Palin's retweet of Tammy Bruce's pro-gay Twitter:
Normally, it's what Sarah Palin tweets that makes news. This time it's what she has re-tweeted.
The former Alaska Governor Monday relayed a comment from gay conservative pundit Tammy Bruce, who was expressing her criticism over continued Republican opposition to the Don't Ask Don't Tell Military policy that won congressional Repeal late last month.
Now th...
Boehner: 'Welcome to the people's house'
WASHINGTON, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- U.S. Rep. John Boehner, newly elected speaker of the House of Representatives, pledged Wednesday to work to "give government back to the people." "Hard work and tough decisions will be required of the 112th Congress," Boehner said. "No longer can we fall short. No longer can we kick the can down the road." Voters on Nov. 2 "humbled us," reminding lawmakers "just how temporary the privilege of serving is," Boehner said. "They have reminded us that everything here is on...

Palin's retweet of the post raised questions about her own stance on the Military's p...

Palin Tweets in Support of Gays
ABC News’ Devin Dwyer reports: Sarah Palin has been conspicuously quiet in the debate over “don’t ask don’t tell” and on a Repeal of the policy President Obama signed into law before the holidays. By most accounts, she has never actually weighed in at all. But Monday night the former Alaska Governor re-tweeted a post from conservative Talk Show host and blogger Tammy Bruce, who is Lesbian, appearing to indirectly cast support for gays and an end...
