Chris Matthews In-law Charged With Smuggling Pot
They don’t make father-in-laws like they used to. And at this point, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews must be hoping that his son’s relatively new wife’s father, a ship captain, isn’t guilty of being involved in an $8.1 million international drug bust. But it’s not looking good. Federal agents seized 4, 497 pounds of pot on a 79-foot sailboat traveling from Jamaica to the U.S. The boat belongs to Matthews’ in-law, James Ormonde Staveley-O’Carroll . Chris Matthews Really Likes Calling Michele Bachmann A Zombie
Political pundits and hosts like to come up with little running insults for the people they don’t like. Not only does it help belittle and dehumanize your political enemy or rival, it also serves as a fun gag for your regular viewers. Some fun examples are Rush Limbaugh always calling Harry Reid “Dingy” or Keith Olbermann always calling Glenn Beck “Lonesome Rhodes.” Well, we can now add another pet name to that illustrious group. Apparently Chris Matthews is unable ...
Once Again, MSNBCs Chris Matthews Attacks GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann as a Zombie Video 1/4/11
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is obsessed with calling GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann a “zombie.” Here he is doing it again on his show last night. The clip he shows in no way supports what he calls her. She is anything but a “zombie.” It’s those who have blindly supported Barack Obama - like Matthews - who could rightly be called “zombies.”

This Just inExcept When Thats Wrong
WaPo‘s “Reliable Source” column Tuesday was late. At 2:02 p.m., they published the news that Chris Matthews ‘ in-law was busted for having nearly 5,000 pounds of pot on his sailboat. The Cape Cod Times broke the story — FBDC isn’t seeking credit. But this item was filed under the category of “This just in.” That’s catchy, and would be right if they wrote, “This Just In Four Hours Ago” or “This Just In a Day Ago.” Perha...
Joe Scarborough Turns Up On House Floor, Gets Mocked By Chris Matthews (VIDEO)
Former House member Joe Scarborough turned up on the floor of the chamber during the start of the 112th Congress on Tuesday, and the cameras caught him there--prompting some ribbing from fellow MSNBC host Chris Matthews.
"He's table-hopping with abandon!" Matthews joked, as the cameras followed Scarborough laughing, joking and back-slapping with some Democratic members of Congress, including now-Minority Whip Steny Hoyer.
"Maybe he's rustling up guests for tomorrow," Matthews continued.

Former cop indicted on charges of plotting to kill girlfriend
Former Las Vegas Police Officer William Ronald Webb was indicted by a county Grand Jury Wednesday on charges of plotting to kill his girlfriend, attorney Nancy Quon. A second man, Robert Justice, 44, was also indicted as a co-conspirator. Justice, a two-time felon, is cooperating with authorities. The Villagers on The Chris Matthews Show Are Giddy Over the Prospect of Obama Preaching Austerity in State of the Union Address
The panelists on The Chris Matthews Show were all in agreement this week. President Obama needs to throw Congressional Democrats Under the Bus, punch down the hippies in his base a few times, preach some Austerity during his State of the Union address and work with those nice reasonable Republicans. If he does that, all will be well with his chances for re-election. MATTHEWS: John I guess that's the question. What's his biggest challenge though? Holding the center as he began to do at the end of...
Chris Matthews Show Panel Predicts GOP House Will Make Obama 'Look Good'
On the syndicated Chris Matthews Show, over the weekend, CNN's Gloria Borger predicted that incoming House Republicans will overreach and make Barack Obama "look good" in comparison and allow the President to become the "grown-up." During a segment in which host Chris Matthews asked his panel to predict how Obama will deal with the GOP, New York magazine's John Heilemann suggested Republicans would "work with him" on issues like Deficit reduction and educati...

Print view: Why don't American kids lead the world? Chris Matthews should ponder the past
WASHINGTON POST EDITORIAL (continuing directly): Education Secretary Arne Duncan is devoting an unprecedented $3.5 billion to a campaign to fix the country's lowest-performing schools. The department is encouraged by reports showing a willingness to make hard decisions. The Post's Nick Anderson, for example, recently reported on 150 schools where principals and at least half of the staff were replaced. Equally encouraging is that some of these efforts were undertaken without opposition from the ...
Matthews Snipes At Scarborough For Strolling House Floor
Professional jealousy, or something of a more personal sort? Chris Matthews sniped at Joe Scarborough today as his MSNBC colleague, exercising his privilege as a former congressman, strolled the House floor during the session culminating in the installation of John Boehner as Speaker. "What do you think of the rule that allows former members like Joe Scarborough to walk around the floor with such impunity, John Harris? We're looking at him on camera here . . . I've never seen such c...

Navy Investigation Over Lewd Videos Expands To Offender's Superiors
In response to the revelation that U.S. Navy Captain Owen Honors produced a series of lewd videos while serving as the executive officer on board the U.S.S. Enterprise, the Navy has cashiered him. And swiftly at that: 48 hours after the videos went viral on the Internet, Honors was relieved of duty, despite the fact that the Enterprise's departure for Afghanistan was imminent.
But that shouldn't be the end of the story. As the executive officer, Honors was merely second-in-command at the time ...

Chrissy Matthewss Big Thrill Love Actually?
Chris Matthews originally billed himself as the blue collar Philadelphia Irish-Catholic guy made good, with Republican brothers and an understanding of how real men think—and how liberals should relate to ‘dose guys.
Just before Christmas, Chris Matthews chucked any pretense that his man card was not a forgery with this weird aside:
MATTHEWS: And that reminded me of this scene from the movie “Love Actually,” which I‘ve seen about a million times…
