Get your story straight, MEPS.
I'll have more to say about the tragedy in Tuscon that killed a 10 year-old girl, a Federal Judge, several others, and critically wounded U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ-8) over the weekend. But in the mean time I think DoD needs to figure out which story they are going with. This:
In one of a handful of anti-religious, anti-government videos on Loughner's YouTube page, he says "every United States Military recruit at MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) in Phoenix is rece...
Arizona Massacre Prompts Political 'Cheap Shots'
When Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords collapsed outside the Safeway in Tucson Saturday morning, felled by a hail of bullets that killed six and wounded another 13 innocent people that had come to see her, some were quick to claim that the carnage was the product not merely of the tortured mind and trigger-happy fingers of the alleged shooter, 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner. Rather, many on the American Left said the horror could be traced to the malign influence of American Conservatives; members...
Liberals Blame Sarah Palin for Tucson Shooting Tragedy
The tragic shooting outside a Tucson strip mall, which left six dead and at least a dozen more wounded, is all because of Sarah Palin, liberals are saying today. So far, police have said they cannot find any motive for the attack, which tookplace during a "Congress on Your Corner" event arranged by Conservative Blue Dog Democrat Gabrielle Giffords, who represents Arizona's 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House. The suspect, Jared Lee Loughner, has allegedly told authorities he planned the...
U.S. cites evidence of assassination plot
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Piece by piece, details of the weekend rampage in Tucson are beginning to emerge: The heartbreaking tales of people slain on a sun-splashed morning, the courage of those who overpowered the gunman and the state of mind of the suspect, a young man who the authorities say had plotted for weeks, and perhaps longer, to assassinate a member of Congress. As the full scope of the tragedy sank in Sunday, it also had rekindled a national conversation, sparked by the outspoken sheriff of...

But the FBI said they have since cleared the man. Polic...
Gunman's Grammar Conspiracy Connection

In early coverage of Saturday's shooting of Rep. Gabri...
Glenn Reynolds: The Real Victims of the Arizona Mass Shooting are Conservatives
courtesy of Teh Sadly
In today’s Wall Street Journal, Putz says that people like Gabrielle Gifford’s husband Mark Kelly, in denouncing the “angry Rhetoric” on the right — are dishonest and indecent.
To paraphrase Justice Cardozo (“proof of negligence in the air, so to speak, will not do”), there is no such thing as responsibility in the air. Those who try to connect Sarah Palin and other political figures with whom they disagree to the shootings in Ari...

Republican Jewish Coalition Mocks Concerns About Overheated Rhetoric
Many Conservatives are unhappy with Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, who lamented the hostile political climate following the tragedy in Arizona this weekend. "I think it's time as a country that we do a little soul-searching," Dupnik said, commenting on the "vitriolic Rhetoric that we hear day in and day out." This morning on Twitter, the Republican Jewish Coalition — whose board of directors includes former Sen. Norm Coleman and Bush officials Ari Fleischer and David Frum — den...

Jill Lepore on the alleged shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, and the Constitution. Limbaugh says Dems playing politics with Giffords shooting
Washington (CNN) - Conservative Talk Radio host Rush Limbaugh offered a vigorous defense of himself and Sarah Palin Monday in response to claims from some media commentators and those on the left that some of their charged statements and colorful language may have inspired the Arizona shootings. "[The media] is unnecessarily stirring up the country in ways that don't merit," Limbaugh said on his radio program Monday. "It's fatuous and silly to even verify and justify these accusations by defend...

Arizona shooter Jared Lee Loughner a registered Democrat?
UPDATE: So far, it appears to be a Hoax. I found a similar document online that had him as a Republican. And an independent.
I got this notice on facebook, and haven't confirmed it. Therefore, this could be just another Hoax. Take this with a big grain of salt for now (plus, you can change Party Affiliation as often as you want):

Free speech and bullets
First, let me say I believe absolutely in the First Amendment to the Constitution, which says “Congress shall make no law … abridging the Freedom of Speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” Don’t wait for a “but,” or an “except,” or “in some cases.” I don’t have one. Second, at least one idea arising from the tragic, despicable and appar...
