Sarah Palin: Sarah Palin made one move that a variety of media watchers would agree with: the rehabilitative interview with fellow Fox News commentator Sean Hannity.
But she also made one that is much closer to her own heart, signing up to speak at a hunting and Gun Rights convention.
That may not seem like it's consistent, but for the woman who has never completed a full term of state or federal elected office, it happens to be part of her moral code.
She compared the media indictment of her using crosshairs on districts where the Tea Party could win with the "blood Libel" that had been part and parcel of the Anti-Semitic movement in Europe.
While both stretched the truth to grotesque proportions, Palin is not in fear for her life, which is part of what may disgust many of her opponents for her to use the phrasing, according to Christian Science Monitor.
It is those same sets of moves that her supporters latch onto, thinking that in her independence she demonstrates a kind of politics that rarely gets national credence in the United States today.
