Pawlenty Defends Palin From Elites
The Huffington Post reports:
WASHINGTON — Speaking before the National Press Club on Thursday, in what was yet another tease at a forthcoming presidential run, Gov. Tim Pawlenty defended fellow GOPer Sarah Palin against critics who he deemed highbrow elitists.

Pawlenty: No VP thoughts this time
Tim Pawlenty made it onto John McCain’s vice-presidential shortlist in 2008, but he made clear Thursday that he’s only interested in the top job this time.
“If I decide to run it would be for president, not vice president,” Pawlenty told the College Republicans group at George Washington University, swatting down the notion that he’s not presidential enough to be at the top of the GOP’s ticket in 2012.

Pawlenty ties himself to Palin, Alaska
At the National Press Club today, Tim Pawlenty returned to a theme from his book that serves a number of purposes (Aaron Blake wrote up good stuff on it here).
First, he hit what some call "elitism" and in doing so, implicitly tackled both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.
And second, he tied himself to Sarah Palin, which is useful for a) his pitch that he's a Populist who, nevertheless, is palatable to the establishment and b) a possible appeal for Palin and/or her supporters to keep him in mind....
Tim Pawlenty, a social conservative extremist, just like the rest
By Michael J.W. Stickings
Think Minnesota Gov. and likely GOP presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty is a sensible Midwestern moderate, an old-school sort of Republican, an antithesis to the Sarah Palins of the party?
Think again.
As Pawlenty told right-wing hatemonger Bryan Fischer on Wednesday, he's not just a fiscal conservative but a social one as well. He's "a strong supporter of the family, pro-life positions, traditional marriage positions" -- in other words, he's anti-abortion and anti-gay,...

At Hispanics' conference, Tim Pawlenty skirts immigration
Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty , a potential 2012 Republican presidential contender, spoke at a conference for Hispanic Conservatives Friday but mostly skirted the Controversial issue of Immigration Reform.
Pawlenty, speaking to a small but engaged audience at the Hispanic Leadership Network conference in Coral Gables, addressed the need for job growth, mainly through educational reform, a topic many Hispanics care about. But only at the end of his 20-minute Speech did he touch on immigrat...
'I'll run for president or open a margarita bar' becomes the Pawlenty mantra
Coral Gables, Florida (CNN) - For one potential Presidential Candidate, it's a tempting choice: should he try to become the Most Powerful Leader of the Free World? Or should he just open a bar, instead? That's what Republican Tim Pawlenty has repeatedly said now about his considerations of a presidential bid - albeit the former Minnesota Governor says it jokingly. Call it a talking point - with salt. CNN spoke to Pawlenty before he addressed a gathering of national Republicans attending a ...
Three Reasons Republicans Can Cheer for T-Paw
Get alerts when there is a new article that might interest you. Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty has been doing the rounds lately, promoting his new book and signaling quite clearly that he is going to run for president. He's still pretty much an unknown quantity among the mass public, but I think there are a lot of reasons for Conservatives to take a close look at him. Here are three. (1) He's good on Budgets. This is a huge deal for the Republican Party. For the last ten years, the party...
2012: Raising Cain
CAIN : “Pizza Magnate and potential presidential aspirant Herman Cain says President Barack Obama has done at least one thing well,” the Wall Street Journal writes. ““He has awakened the sleeping giant called ‘we the people,’ Mr. Cain said, talking from his Hotel Room in Phoenix… Mr. Cain got a jump on other potential GOP 2012 Candidates Wednesday when he formed a presidential Exploratory Committee, which allows him to raise money for a possible White H...
Pawlenty defends Palin, saying after shooting, she was 'falsely accused'
Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) kicked off his book tour Thursday with a Speech at the National Press Club that included a staunch defense of a potential rival for the GOP nomination — former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Pawlenty slammed Palin critics, who he said made "instant judgments" on the basis of "incomplete facts" in the hours after the Tucson shooting that killed at least six people and critically wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) and 13 others.
"In those early hours
Pawlenty's pitch in D.C.
If Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty embarks on a 2012 White House bid, his Speech today in Washington D.C. could provide a framework for the message he would deliver to primary state voters later this year. Kicking off his book tour for his new memoir “Courage to Stand” with remarks at the National Press Club, Pawlenty offered a pitch that was two parts biography, one part contrast, and one part vision. The former Minnesota Governor spoke at length about his humble upbringing in a scrappy...
Sarah Palin 1 liberal democrats 0
Sarah Palin got dragged by the mainstream press in the Gabrielle Giffords tragedy. She was accused of somehow being responsible for Giffords’ shooting as well as the other Victims harmed in the incident. She was thousands of miles away. She never personally targeted Giffords. She basically had absolutely nothing to do with this incident. Despite these facts, she was used as a scapegoat and blamed so unfairly that it was obvious to a majority of Americans. Only 28% of Adul...
Pawlenty lone contender at GOP event
Coral Gables, Fla. – In a crowded field of 2012 presidential hopefuls, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will have the stage to himself at a conference Friday of Hispanic Republicans, giving him unfettered access to a key voting bloc in the largest Battleground state.
If Republicans want to make inroads in the Hispanic community, “first of all, show up,” Pawlenty told Politico Thursday. “You’ve got to listen – earn their trust, earn their respect and earn t...
Possible Republican White House candidates in 2012
Fri Jan 14, 2011 12:29pm EST
n">(Reuters) - Only one year before the first voting in the 2012 Presidential Election, no Republican has formally announced his or her candidacy in an unusually slow start to the campaign.
Here is a list of possible Republican contenders, many of whom have built robust Fundraising operations and paid repeated visits to states where early balloting plays a key role in choosing the party's Candidate.

Rev. Franklin Graham Defends Palin: I Am Shocked at Reports Linking Sarah Palin to Tucson Shootings
The Rev. Franklin Graham defended Sarah Palin from the horrific attacks coming from the state-run media and Democrats after a leftwing pothead shot and killed 6 people in Tucson. Internationally respected Evangelist Franklin Graham, the son of the great preacher Billy Graham, jumped into the political fray Tuesday by denouncing “outrageous” attempts by the political left to blame Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for the Tucson rampage that left six dead and 14 wounded. “This is a time f...
The Road Not Taken
Shorter Kirstin Powers:
Wednesday night President Obama spent waaaay too much time talking about people who got shot and asking Americans to be more civil and stuff like that, when he should have talking about the real Victims of the Tucson shooting: Sarah Palin and Conservatives.
I think someone is going to find a little something extra in her paycheck from Roger Ailes next week and it’s not going to be Bill O’Reilly’s falafel this time.

Ariz. Shooting Survivor Blames Conservatives
We speak with Tucson shooting survivor Eric Fuller. A 63-year-old disabled Veteran, Fuller had campaigned for Arizona Democrat Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in her Reelection campaign and was at the Supermarket in Tucson on Saturday to meet with her. He was shot in the knee and also wounded in the back. "It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target," Fuller says. "Their wish for Second Amendment Activism has been fulfilled." You must login to comment. MSNBC Exonerates Jared Loughner
Jared Loughner almost certainly had never heard of Sarah Palin back in 2007 when he first developed the psychotic fixation on Gabrielle Giffords that climaxed in mass Murder. He did not follow the news, and there is no evidence whatsoever that he was motivated in any way by any conservative. But that's not going to stop MSNBC from exploiting the tragedy. Spinning the news is behind this astonishingly vile network. Now they invent it out of whole cloth. Check out the graphic they've been running ...

Pawlenty on tour, touting Rhee
Yesterday, at the National Press Club, Tim Pawlenty delivered a stirring tribute to ex-DC schools chancellor Michelle Rhee.
"As we were Waiting for Superman, as the movie unfolded in front of the nation, we had superwoman. She was in this district," said Pawlenty "In the most troubled, high spending district in the nation, she was essentially dismissed because of her views. While we were waiting for superman, superwoman was pushed aside. Her name was Michelle Rhee. She was a Dem...
