Mel Gibson: Aaron Worthing at Patterico’s Pontifications recently wrote a post about an interview in GQ with Winona Ryder — who is Jewish; who knew? — in which she offhandedly charged that, “like, fifteen years ago,” she was at a Hollywood party, where she met a drunken Mel Gibson… and that, when she mentioned her religion, he jokingly referred to Jews as “oven dodgers.” (Ryder also claims that Gibson “made a really horrible gay joke” to her gay fr...

Polls: Coats Up Big in Indiana, Kasich Up in Ohio

Keep up the pressure, keep making phone calls, keep recruiting friends and family, and make sure your scheduled has an opening on November 2nd. But all of this hard work deserves some good news . Republicans leading in Indiana isn’t a given. In fact, the currently vacant United States Senate seat is held...

Now, 20 years later the two men are vying to be elected Arkansas Governor Nov. 2.
Green Party Candidate Jim Lendall of Mabelvale is on the ballot for his second run at the...
It could be a horse race for Texas governor
Reporting from Dallas —
By several measures, Texas Gov. Rick Perry should be cruising to Reelection for a record third term.
He is a conservative Republican in a conservative state, more residents believe Texas is moving in the right direction than do not, and the Democratic Party has failed to win any statewide office since 1994.
Yet Perry maintains just a single-digit lead in recent polls over Democrat Bill White, the well-funded former Houston mayor.

rbGH Milk Ruled 'Compositionally Different' in Ohio
© unknown
Remember way back when when several states tried to ban "rbGH-free" claims on dairy? This was a few years ago now. Monsanto, who owned rbGH at the time, helped found a group of rbGH-loving dairy farmers called AFACT. AFACT then pushed to ban any label claims telling consumers which milk came from cows that had not been treated with rbGH. Naturally, that sparked tons of consumer outrage, and ultimately AFACT was unsuccessful in most states where they tried this.

What Ohio's Gloom Means for the Midterms
While jobs and The Economy are on voters' minds across the country, Ohio has been particularly battered by Unemployment and Budget shortfalls. Although the outlook has been less bleak in the last few months -- the jobless Rate is 10.1, down from 10.7 percent Rate a year ago -- The Economy needs "to pick up about six months before an Election" for the voters to notice, said Paul Beck, an Ohio State political scientist. Related In a recent New York Times/CBS New poll , two-thirds of Ohioans...
