NY Times: A Coming Assault on the E.P.A.
President Obama’s political advisers have shown little enthusiasm for environmental issues. Mr. Obama himself ceded leadership on the climate-change issue to Congress, which ended up doing nothing….
In 1995, the Newt Gingrich crowd came to town promising to overturn a whole body of environmental law. Mr. Clinton rose up, not only winning the big battles, but eventually compiling a sterling record. Mr. Obama should emulate him.
That’s the conclusion to a NY Times editorial on the ...

The Red and Blue States' Fort Sumter
The opening shot of the War Between the Red and Blue States may have been fired last Friday when the Environmental Protection Administration announced its intention to take over Texas's authority on issuing clean air permits to new industrial facilities as of January 2.
It is hard to imagine a more stark confrontation between public and Private Sector-oriented economies. Texas has the strongest economy in the nation, based on its philosophy of Limited Government. The Texas Legislature convenes o...
"wind power is about as dependable as, well, the wind."
From the Scotsman: “Scotland’s Wind Farms are unable to cope with the freezing weather conditions - grinding to a halt at a time when electricity demand is at a peak, forcing the country to rely on power generated by French nuclear plants.” Well, how bad could it be? From the Scotsman: “Shortly before 5:30pm on [Monday and Tuesday], wind power production fell to 62MW and 61 MW respectively - just 2.5 per cent of its total capacity. At the same time on both occ...

Hawkeyes, Tigers looking for positive ending
Iowa and Missouri will meet in the Insight Bowl on Tuesday night, renewing a once-brutal rivalry between schools from neighboring states. Payback? Analysts Say START Goes Easy on Russia
Gee, who woulda thunk it? The START Treaty goes easy on Russia, according to analysts. Isn’t it funny the way the media reports bad news about Democrat policies after those policies are enacted?
AFP reported:
The new Russia-US nuclear arms pact may have been hailed as historic but analysts said that all Moscow really has to do is phase out Soviet-era missiles and warheads that are already out of date.
The new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) was ratified by the US Senate on Wedne...
