White House: A couple of weeks ago, I watched a television interview with POTUS Obama on '60 Minutes' from the White House.

When that interview was conducted - President Obama was showing the CBS reporter around the White House grounds, which included a pretty nice swing set that was donated by someone for Barack and Michele Obama's Children to use while living there.

GOP gives HuffPo fits: Thats the spirit!
Currently the rather familiar-sounding headline on HuffPo as of 7:30pm, November 4:
Yeah, you read it here first at 3a.m., November 3:
You know what they say: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
Here’s what GOP Senate leader Mitch McConnell said that has the progs in fits:
Barely an hour after President Barack Obama invited congressional Republicans to Post-election talks to work together on major issues, the Senate’s GOP leader had a blunt message: His party’s main ...
Morning Bell: Get to Work Repealing Obamacare
During his post-election Press Conference Wednesday, President Barack Obama was asked: “As you’re well aware, obviously, a lot of Republicans ran against your Health Care law. Some have called for repealing the law. I’m wondering, sir, if you believe that Health Care Reform that you worked so hard on is in danger at this point, and whether there’s a threat, as a result of this election.” The President replied:
Well, I know that there’s some Republican Candidates who won

U.S. congressional Republicans will try to Repeal President Barack Obama's healthcare law next year but their Leader in the Senate acknowledged on Thursday they will likely have to settle for far more modest changes.

Does ObamaCare Reduce Health Care Spending?
Yesterday, former Congressional Budget Office and Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag had a piece in The New York Times claiming that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 is an essential element to keeping future Health Care Costs down. Worried that Republicans will make good on Election Night vows to Repeal ObamaCare, Orszag's basic argument in summed up in his commentary's headline: "To Save Money, Save the Health Care Act."
He writes: “Sure, the Health ca...
Obama Tells 60 Minutes His Policies Werent Rejected
CBS News:
NEW YORK (CBS) â After a suffering a âshellackingâ in the Midterm Elections, President Obama acknowledges what many have seen as his chief weakness â failing to sell the importance of several legislative milestones to the American People.
âI think thatâs a fair argument. I think that, over the course of two years we were so busy and so focused on getting a bunch of stuff done that, we stopped pa
Mitch McConnell Has His Cojones in a Vise
Mitch McConnell gave a Speech at the Heritage Foundation this morning where he doubled down on his promise to do what he could to make President Obama a one-term president. From the transcript: Let’s start with the big picture. Over the past week, some have said it was indelicate of me to suggest that our top political priority over the next two years should be to deny President Obama a Second Term in office. But the fact is, if our primary legislative goals are to Repeal and replace the h...
Puffing On The Republican Mandate Crack Pipe
When it comes to Republican leaders, mandates are in the eyes of the beholder.
That’s why they could claim in the wake of the 2000 Presidential Election that the party had a mandate although Al Gore got 540,000 more votes than George Bush.
And that’s why Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell could claim with a straight face this week that he has a mandate although the Democrats have a 53 to 47 seat majority (two Caucus members are Independents) and Democrats have now secured a Sena...
The Associated Press: Employers add 151K jobs, first gain since May
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Economy generated a net gain in Jobs for the first time in five months in October, as businesses stepped up their painfully slow pace of hiring.
But the Unemployment Rate, measured by a separate survey of households, remained stuck at 9.6 percent for the third straight month.
Still, the Job gains should give Americans a bit more income to spend, providing some support to the sluggish economy. That higher income, combined with the potential extension of the Bush Tax Cuts ...

Senate GOP: Finger Pointing and Uncompromising
While Republicans are victorious in the House, there’s still quite a bit of re-evaluation and finger pointing among GOP rank-and-file over what happened in the Senate. Only weeks before Election Day, pollsters started showing signs that Republicans were within range of a surprising takeover of the Senate Majority. With the Enthusiasm Gap between Republicans and Democrats growing, Strategists saw an opportunity opening as polls tightened in coveted races like Pennsylvania, California,...

October Jobs Report a Mixed Bag
This morning’s Jobs report is confusing because the two different surveys are saying two different things. The Payroll survey shows an Increase of 151,000 workers and revises upwards by 100,000 the number of Jobs created in the last two months. However, the household survey, which determines the Unemployment Rate, shows a decline in Jobs and the number of workers in the Labor Force. Diverging reports like this are not uncommon during changes in the business cycle. If you’re a glass-h...

For the last three days, gaming out whether Pelosi would make this call has become a favorite parlor game in Washington.

“The most important competition we face in this new century will not be between Democrats and Republicans,” Obama said at the White House. “It’s the competition with countries around the world to lead the Global Economy. And our success or failure...

Mitch McConnell Challenges Obama With Bold Speech
Washington -- Barely an hour after President Barack Obama invited congressional Republicans to post-election talks to work together on major issues, the Senate's GOP Leader had a blunt message: His party's main goal is denying Obama re-election.
In a sign that combat and the 2012 Elections rather than Compromise could mark the next two years, Sen. Mitch McConnell on Thursday called for Senate votes to Repeal or erode Obama's signature Health Care law, to Cut Spending and to shrink government.

Why Harry Reid probably wont tinker with the filibuster
During the campaign, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid talked openly about wanting to change the Filibuster rule. As the WSJ reported over the summer:
The Nevada Democrat aligned the Filibuster to the spitball, which was eventually banned from Baseball because pitchers abused it.
“We’re going to have to change it,” Reid pledged, adding that there’s “no plan yet” on how, exactly, Democrats would like to alter the rules. He also didn’t mention that it could be consi
