Is Jared Lee Loughner linked to Tea Party, conservatives, or libertarians? (Gabrielle Giffords shooting)
Q. Is Jared Lee Loughner linked to the Tea Party, conservative, or Libertarian movements?
A. At this time, there's no indication that Loughner was a member of any organized political movement. He was a registered independent who hadn't voted in 2010 (link). The DHS claim that he was linked to the white racial separatist group AmRen is false. Given what we know now, the chances of him being welcomed as a member of any group outside the far fringe is remote [1]. Given his history, the chances th...
Gingrich: Rank hypocrisy on shootings
On Radio Station WSLAM, Newt Gingrich wonders why those on the Left -- who take such care and diligence before assigning blame to particular groups -- are suddenly rushing to condemn a Tea Party movement that, thus far, has no ties to the Arizona shootings.
"Look, I think it's amazing that people who cannot bring themselves to connect any kind of radical Islamist ideology to the 126 people who've been indicted in the United States plotting Terrorism, people who would immediately scream about e...
The Present Madness
On the radio this morning, Bill Bennett and I had a discussion about the Arizona massacre, and the political use of it made by the Left in this country. A few observations. In a way, they have won. “They”? I mean, the Krugmans, the Sullivans, the Olbermanns: “They.” They’ve won because we are on their turf, where they have dragged us, or enticed us. The shooting in Arizona has nothing to do with politics. Nothing to do with Republicans, nothing to do with conservati...
What President Obama should say (#obamashouldsay)
President Obama is scheduled to speak in Arizona Wednesday evening. The Speech will come four days after a gunman, identified by police as Jared Lee Loughner, killed six people and wounded 14 during a shooting rampage in front of a Tucson Supermarket. Among the dead: a nine-year old girl who aspired to enter politics and a Federal Judge. Among the wounded: Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), the apparent target. Analysts and commentators around the web are giving the president advice regarding wh...
Poll: Shooting spree not due to rhetoric
WASHINGTON, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Most Americans don't blame the shooting rampage in which Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was wounded on violent political language, a poll released Tuesday indicated. While 57 percent said the Mass Shooting in Tucson, Ariz., was not related to political Rhetoric, 32 percent said the two are linked, CBS News reported. The poll was conducted by the CBS News Polling Unit. GALLERY: The aftermath of the Rep. Giffords shooting There was a partisan divide with 69 percent of Republ...

Poll: Rhetoric, Arizona shooting unrelated
By Jordan Fabian - 01/11/11 08:13 AM ET
Almost 60 percent of the public believes that heated political rhetoric has nothing to do with an Arizona Shooting Spree that gravely wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D) and killed a Federal Judge.
Fifty-seven percent of respondents in a new CBS News poll said rhetoric is unrelated to the shooting, while 32 percent said they believe the two are connected.
Many pundits and lawmakers have keyed in on ...
Pro-Palestinian Activists Slapped With Subpoenas, Sparking Free Speech Concerns
If an American Communist website publishes a statement issued by a Palestinian Terrorist group, has the Communist website committed a crime?
That’s a question that some Midwestern Activists could face as Grand Jury hearings approach for members of pro-Palestinian and left-wing groups who have received Subpoenas in recent months from Federal Prosecutors. The exact nature of the investigation is unclear, as the office of Patrick Fitzgerald, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illino...
Media Marxists No Different: Theyre Not Letting the Arizona Crisis to Go to Waste
There was a cavalcade of Leftist - and media, please pardon the redundancy - politically opportunistic idiocy in response to this weekend’s horrendous Tucson, Arizona Murders. Which were committed unilaterally and without any assistance from anyone by the deranged Jared Loughner.
Never ones to let facts get in the way of a good beating, a great many Progressives grabbed onto the complete lack of any evidence to assign complicit blame for the homicides to Governor Sarah Palin, c...
"You can't outsmart crazy"
By Edward Copeland
With those words, Jon Stewart gave another eloquent Speech at the beginning of Monday night's Daily Show, dispensing with humor to address Saturday's horrific events in Tucson.
With each passing hour and day since alleged gunman Jared Lee Loughner opened fire on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, critically injuring her, killing six and wounding 14 others, it becomes clearer that this 22-year-old man was not a political partisan but someone who was severely mentally ill. With Arizona...
We're Arizona shooting victims too, says Tea Party co-founder
Source: The Guardian
A nine-year-old girl lies in the morgue. A member of Congress faces a lifetime of struggle to recover from a bullet in the brain. A city is bracing itself for a string of funerals as it tries to fathom the carnage.
But Trent Humphries says there is another innocent Victim left by Jared Lee Loughner's killing of six people and wounding of 14 others in his Assassination attempt against Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. It is his Tea Party movement and, more particularly, his f...
Mental illness expert: Yes, ask whether political climate was a trigger for shooter
Dr. Marvin Swartz, a Professor of psychiatry and leading expert in Mental Illness, told Greg Sargent today that yes, the nation's political climate should be considered in the Jared Lee Loughner case.
"It's a reasonable question to ask," Dr. Marvin Swartz, a psychiatry Professor at Duke University who specializes in how environment impacts the behavior of the mentally ill, said in an interview this morning. "The nature of someone's delusions is effected by culture. It's a reasonable line of inq...
Fighting Words: In Tucson Massacre Debate, The Shooter Becomes Irrelevant
Before anyone knew anything about Jared Loughner beyond his name, pundits and politicians began a mad dash to assign ownership of his motives. Clearly, he was driven by conservative politics because Rep. Gabrielle Giffords supported health-care reform and was therefore an enemy of the Tea Party. No, wait. He was a liberal because he once read "To Kill A Mockingbird" and "The Communist Manifesto." The funny thing is that, despite Loughner's written targeting of Giffords and a past, bizarre claim ...

No, Really: WND's Klein Tries to Blame AZ Shooting On Bill Ayers
Topic: WorldNetDaily
It appears that selectively quoting from Jared Loughner's reading list was only the beginning of the misinformation and outright falsehoods WorldNetDaily's Aaron Klein intends to peddle about the Arizona shooting.
Because apparently Bill Ayers must be worked into this story somehow, a Jan. 10 article by Klein begins:
Jared Lee Loughner, the suspected gunman in Saturday's Arizona shooting, attended...
Manson Family Values
At Big Journalism, Christian Hartsock explains “How John Lennon Killed Sharon Tate (and Other Ideas For MSM Narratives):”
John Lennon murdered Sharon Tate. Jodie Foster shot Ronald Reagan. Oliver Stone and Marilyn Manson caused Columbine. A dog ordered the Son of Sam killings. And Fox News, the Tea Party and the American right compelled Jared Loughner to shoot Gabrielle Giffords and 18 others in Tucson.
The only reason these parallels don’t work is that while Charles Manson did i...
Missing From Loughner Debate: Soul Searching
Jared Loughner
(Credit: Personal Photo)
There's been quite a bit of back and forth this week about who should share the blame for the actions of alleged Tucson shooter Jared Lee Loughner. Some on the left have pointed to incendiary Rhetoric from Sarah Palin and others on the right, while some on the right have sought to tie Loughner to the beliefs of the left.
Palin was blamed in part for using of a bullseye icon to identify political targets - including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords - before the ...
Gingrich to make Iowa stop
(CNN) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich continues the tour of key presidential primary states ahead of his likely campaign for the Oval Office, set to court Ethanol proponents in Des Moines at the end of January. Gingrich, who previously visited the key Caucus state in September and November, will address the Iowa Renewable Fuel Association's annual summit, according to Gingrich spokesman Rick Tyler. The event will be open to the media. Gingrich's appearance will come shortly after another po...
Wayne Besen: The Bombast and the Body Count in Arizona
While the world focused on the tragic Arizona shootings, another horrific crime took place in New York City. The New York Post reported today that a Portuguese male model tortured and murdered his "sugar daddy" in a Manhattan hotel. For more than an hour, Renato Seabra, 20, beat Carlos Castro, 65, before he castrated the older Fashion Journalist with a wine corkscrew.
Seabra said he murdered the Journalist "to get rid of Castro's Homosexual demons." The suspect then declared, "I'm not gay any...
CBS poll: 57% of Americans reject Palin did it media spin on Arizona massacre
According to a CBS poll, a 57% majority of Americans do not believe this weekend’s mass Murder had anything to do with politics. Bad news for the Far Left which has worked overtime to smear Sarah Palin and the Far Right in the wake of the shooting. Just how badly folks on professional left failed at politicizing this tragedy for their own political gain? Even a 49% plurality of the survey’s Democratic respondents does not buy the meme that Sarah Palin and the Tea Party are at fault ...
A trip down memory lane with Newt Gingrich
A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE WITH Newt Gingrich.... As tempting as it is to simply ignore the odd tirades of the disgraced former House Speaker, this latest gem from Newt Gingrich strikes me as special.

Tucson shooting victim shielded wife from hail of bullets

TUCSON, Arizona | Tue Jan 11, 2011 3:05pm EST
TUCSON, Arizona (Reuters) - An elderly man who died using his body to shield his wife from a withering hail of bullets when a gunman sprayed a crowd in Tucson on Saturday, was remembered for his heroics on Tuesday.
Dorwan Stoddard, a 76-year-old retired Construction Worker, died saving his wife, Mavanelle, by covering her on the ground as the gunmen shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and 19 others at a street corner congressional outreach ...
Giffords condition improves after shooting
TUCSON, Ariz - U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords is breathing on her own and doctors Tuesday were hopeful about her recovery from a head wound suffered in an Arizona Shooting Spree that killed six people. Giffords, a popular 40-year-old Democrat, remained in critical condition at a Tucson Hospital but is “holding her own,” responding to simple commands and breathing without aid of a tube although a bullet passed through her brain, doctors said. “She has no right to look th...
The dos and donts of Sheriff Dupnik: Another ploy to silence conservatives
By Paul A. Ibbetson
The recent shooting in Tucson, Arizona, that critically injured Democratic Representative Gabrielle Giffords as well as killing six other innocent citizens brings the nation again to attempting to find reasons where they are least likely to be found. At this time authorities are still discovering many of the details; however, it has been reported that the shooter in the incident, Jared Lee Loughner, was a mentally unstable individual.

Left-wing Nutbag Kills Bush-Appointed Judge
Now there is a headline you won’t see in the lamestream media, blogs on the left or MSNBC.
Instead, Chris Matthews is sure that a guy whose favorite book was the Communist Manifesto was inspired by… Sharron Angle. More on that, later.
Also basically unmentioned is the name of Federal Judge John Roll who was killed in the attack. Judge Roll was appointed to the bench by George H.W. Bush. I had to Google search today to remind myself of his name, to write this. (The Los A
Dems Need to Look to Their Own Ranks for Elevated Rhetoric
Saturday morning, a hail of bullets took the lives of five Americans, including a Federal Judge and a nine year old girl. 19 others were injured, including Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. For most, Saturday was a day of tragedy - a day of reflection. Well, Saturday morning, at any rate. By Saturday afternoon, the left-wing brain trust had shifted into high gear. By Sunday, every tired, worn out, leftist mouthpiece, from Jane Fonda to MoveOn.org, had shuffled d
Gingrich will visit Iowa this month
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) will visit Iowa later this month as speculation heats up over whether or not he will for for president.
The Des Moines Register reported Tuesday that Gingrich will speak at a Renewable Energy summit on Jan. 25.
The Iowa caucuses are the nation's first presidential primary contests and Gingrich's visit is likely to stoke talk that he could enter the 2012 GOP primary. Gingrich has said that he could announce a decision to run as early as February.
